A Night to Remember

All names and personal details have been changed to protect the privacy of those we serve.

Good Afternoon,

I just wanted to write a little review of my experience with Richie Reed and Garrett Hovagimian. My name is Emma, and I have an 11-year-old daughter named Lily. Lily was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes seven years ago.

On August 26th at 1 pm, she was admitted to the Northern Lights Hospital in Fort McMurray. We were told she was in DKA, and her blood sugar was 37. Around 6 pm, I was told she would have to be flown to the Stollery Hospital in Edmonton. At this point, we were emotionally drained, stressed, and in a panic.

When Richie and Garrett showed up, they were so calm and thorough. They answered all the questions we had and then some. They were so good with Lily and kept her comfortable and engaged. They made us laugh and took some stress off of us. They were with us every step of the way and always kept me updated. They made this horrible experience comfortable for both Lily and me. We are so thankful we had them that night. I can’t say enough good things about them. You have two terrific men on your team. They made such an impact on our night. I will be forever grateful for them. Gold stars all around!!!

Thank you.

PS. Lily is feeling so much better and loves telling her story about how she got to ride in a plane!
